MANUSCRIPT AWARD OPPORTUNITIES
Students! A slide presentation is an excellent opportunity to gain experience presenting your research. Students are invited to submit manuscripts of their original research to be presented as a slide (Powerpoint) presentation at the 2012 TACSM Annual Meeting. Up to four manuscripts will be accepted for a 10-minute presentation (with 5 minutes for Q&A), with monetary awards given to the finalists.
Students who submit manuscripts that are not selected for a slide presentation will automatically be placed in the poster section. Use standard manuscript format for your submissions which should be sent no later than January 20, 2012 by e-mail (Word or PDF attachment) to C.M. Hearon, PhD, FACSM, TACSM Executive Director.
NOTE: TACSM must issue 1099 forms for all payments to students of $600 or more, so student award winners will be expected to report this income to the IRS if the award checks are made out to them. Or, if the student prefers, TACSM can have the award checks made out to the student’s University. For this to happen, a faculty member at that institution must pre-authorize this and TACSM should be informed prior to the annual meeting.
